Blinds installation mounts blinds, shades and curtain rods on your windows so they hang level, clear the trim and operate smoothly. Csiszer Property Maintenance, an insured handyman company serving Essex County and Union County, NJ, does it for homeowners, landlords and businesses, from one bedroom window to every window in the house. We work with the products you already bought, on wood, plaster, vinyl or metal frames.
Blinds installation is the job of fixing brackets to the window frame or wall, setting them level and square, and fitting the window blind, shade or rod so it works without rubbing. It's one of our wall mounting services, done with the right anchor for each frame.
Most window treatment installation problems start at the brackets. A headrail that's a quarter inch out of level shows as a slanted bottom rail, a blind that drifts to one side, or a cord lock that won't catch. In older Essex County homes, window openings are rarely square after a century of settling, and plaster returns crumble when a screw goes in without a pilot hole. Getting the brackets right is most of the work.
The other half is choosing where the hardware goes. Inside mounts sit within the frame and need enough depth; outside mounts go on the trim or wall and block more light. Curtain rods need a solid hold on the wall above, because a full-length drape pulls down and out every time it's opened. Each of these is planned from your photos before the visit.
Vinyl, faux wood and aluminum blinds fitted inside or outside the frame and set level.
Roller, cellular and Roman shades mounted so they raise evenly and stop where you want.
Single and double rods anchored into studs or rated anchors to carry the drape's weight.
Brackets placed for your window depth, trim and how much light you want to block.
The right bit and anchor for each frame, so screws hold without cracking the surface.
Old blinds and brackets taken down, and holes the new hardware won't cover filled.
Book blind installation when new window coverings are waiting in boxes or the ones you have don't hang straight. These are the six situations we see most.
New windows, new house and a stack of boxes you haven't had time to open and mount.
A slanted bottom rail usually means one bracket sits lower than the other, not a bad blind.
Loose screws in crumbling plaster need a new anchor or a new spot, not a bigger screw.
A rod bowing in the middle needs a center support or anchors that reach solid wood.
Families often swap corded blinds for cordless ones before a child starts crawling.
Matching, working blinds in every room make a unit photograph and rent better.
Our blinds installation takes five steps: photos, a review, a written quote, mounting and a full operating check.
Text or upload a photo of each window from inside, a close-up of the frame edge and a photo of the product or box.[PREENCHER: a Csiszer mede as janelas antes da compra?]
We check frame depth, frame material and any window that isn't square. If photos aren't enough, we schedule a visit at no charge.
You get a written quote before anything is booked. Approve it and choose a weekday between 8 AM and 5 PM.
Old hardware comes down, brackets are set level on the right anchors, and each blind, shade or rod is fitted.
Each blind is raised, lowered and tilted, safety devices are installed, and packaging and dust are cleaned up.
Every blinds installation includes mounting, leveling and an operating check. The only things left out are jobs New Jersey reserves for a licensed or certified pro.

Blinds installation cost depends on the number of windows, the product, the frame material and how high the windows are. Share photos or a short description, and the price is in writing before anything is scheduled.
Blind installation is usually quoted by the job, so the price covers every window in the request, the hardware setup and cleanup. The number of windows matters most, followed by the product: a simple roller shade mounts faster than a double curtain rod with a blind behind it.
Frames change the setup. Wood trim takes screws easily, while plaster returns, metal frames and vinyl replacement windows each need a specific bit or anchor. Tell us which you have, and group every window in one request so the whole house is quoted together.
| Factor | How it affects the price | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Number of windows | More windows in one visit spread the setup across more work | One window vs. the whole second floor |
| Product type | Layered or heavy treatments take more brackets and adjustment | A roller shade vs. a blind plus a double rod |
| Frame or wall material | Plaster, metal and vinyl need specific bits and anchors | Wood trim vs. a plaster return |
| Height | Stairwell and tall windows add ladder setup | A bedroom window vs. a stair landing window |
| Old hardware | Removing brackets and filling holes adds a step | A bare window vs. old blinds to take down |
| Other jobs in the same visit | Grouping small jobs gets more done for one trip | Blinds plus a TV and two shelves |
Not sure which mount you need before you order? Our guide inside vs outside mount blinds walks through window depth and light gaps.
Most crooked or stuck blinds come from the brackets, not the blind: wrong depth, wrong anchor or a window that isn't square. Here's what to avoid, how to choose a mount and how to get ready.
Six mistakes cause most blind installation problems: measuring the window once, an inside mount on a shallow frame, screws straight into plaster, brackets out of level, skipping the safety devices and rods only into drywall.
Old openings are rarely square. Measuring width at the top, middle and bottom shows which size fits inside.
If the frame is too shallow, the blind sticks out and the slats hit the window crank or lock.
Plaster cracks without a pilot hole and the right anchor, and the bracket loosens every time the blind drops.
Even a small difference between brackets makes the blind drift, bind or hang with a slanted bottom rail.
Cord cleats and tension devices come in the box for a reason. Left off, they leave dangling cords.
Long drapes pull on a rod every day. Without studs or rated anchors, the brackets tear out over time.
Choose an inside mount for a clean, built-in look when the frame is deep and square; choose an outside mount to block more light or cover a shallow or uneven frame. The full comparison is in inside vs outside mount blinds.
Six small things make the visit faster. For homes where young children live or visit, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends cordless window coverings.
Choose us for blinds installation because one insured team mounts every window level, on the right anchors, with the price in writing first.
Blinds, shades and curtain rods are mounted level and tested by an insured handyman company.
After a move or before a rental turnover, every window can be included in one request and quoted together.
Wood, plaster, metal and vinyl frames each get the bit and anchor that holds without cracking.
Every blind is raised, lowered and tilted before we leave, and adjusted if it drifts or binds.
If a shade needs hardwired power, you hear that up front so a licensed electrician can handle it.
Old blinds come down first, and bracket holes the new hardware won't cover are filled so they don't show.
These are the questions people ask most before a blinds installation. For other jobs, see all our installation and mounting services.
It depends on the window depth and how much light you want to block. Inside mounts need enough depth for the headrail and look built in; outside mounts cover light gaps and hide uneven trim. Our guide inside vs outside mount blinds compares both.
Yes. Most jobs use blinds, shades or rods the customer already bought. Send a photo of the box or the product page so the right brackets and anchors come to the visit.
No. Plaster, metal and vinyl frames each get the right drill bit and anchor, so the brackets stay tight. Show the frame material in your photos and we plan for it.
Yes. The blind goes inside or on the frame, and the rod goes on the wall above, anchored into studs or rated anchors. The spacing is checked so the curtain doesn't catch on the blind.
Yes. For homes where young children live or visit, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends cordless window coverings. If you keep corded blinds, the cord cleats and tension devices from the box are installed too.
Battery-powered and plug-in motorized shades are mounted like any other shade. Shades that need hardwired power go to a licensed electrician, because New Jersey requires a license for electrical work of 10 volts or more.
